These double-laced beauties are sure to stun any chicken enthusiast with their gorgeous arrowhead like pattern and coppery brown eggs. Considered to be one of the finest dark brown egg layers, Barnevelders will lay 180 eggs a year and thrive in colder weather making them great winter layers. Hen plumage will have black feathers with reddish-brown edging that creates the famed double-laced pattern. This pattern is typically absent in the males; however, they make up for it with an iridescent green sheen that shines in the sunlight.
